Chipswitch
Socket

Use of a chip socket is desirable and recommended.   A socket should be soldered into the circuit board and then the CHIPSWITCH plugged into the socket.  You must be careful when you plug the chip into the socket to not damage the socket's spring loaded contacts. To do so could cause bad connections and unpredictable radio operation.

The Following instructions show you how to use an 'off the self' 64 pin socket in the improperly spaced UNIDEN pcb's.

Note: Never plug a previously soldered chip into a socket.
The solder residue and 'burrs' on the leads of the chip will
damage the socket and cause bad connections.)

Replace the capacitor as shown on the backside of the pcb.

Very last of all, after thorough cleaning of the pcb and the socket, install the CHIPSWITCH IC.
